Had a great visit with Mark today. It was great to see all the positive change since I saw him last in the summer. Today he was eating a smooth that Lyla made for him. and he even wrote his name and the alphabet on a sheet of paper. I think Mark is really heading in the right direction.

  13. I said a prayer for Mark while I was at the Kotel in Israel. It was very powerful to be in such a place with so many around me saying prayers as well. I was then thrilled to come home to news that Mark is finally leaving the hospital.

Mary, you have been amazing throughout this whole ordeal. And I am happy that this blog has become part of the journey – it is so important to remember and share. xxx

We are all saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Mrs. Silver. I was fortunate to be able to see her again after many years when Mark first became ill. I’ll never forget her loving smile whenever she would welcome me into her house back in the old days. The entire Silver family has been in our thoughts and prayers over the past 6 months and will continue to be in the present and future. God bless you and help you through this difficult time. I hope to see you when I am able to return to Toronto. Our deepest heartfelt sympathies to the entire Silver family.

    Lovingly,

    Rick, Rosie and Samuel Rosen

My condolences to all, I can’t imagine how very difficult this must be for you.
I worked with Mark for twelve years, he was very good to me, helped me thru some difficult times and I will always remember him with affection and respect.

  27. Jan Parry says:

Mary, I am so sorry I know how difficult it is to watch a loved one slip into death. Your focus will be on your beloved husband, but please, please look after yourself. Cry when you need to, laugh when you can and be patient with the awkwardness of friends and family. They mean well, but so many of us have simply no idea how to deal with the emotions connected to death. Enjoy the time you have left together.

  28. Toni Stevens says:

Mary, I remember both you and Mark fondly from our college days. You were both shining lights. The love you have shared, The beautiful daughters you have raised, The light still shines – bright.
I am so very sorry for this great loss. You and your family are in my heart and prayers.
    With my warmest regards,
    Toni
